How
do I submit samples of artwork? Please do not send original artwork. We will look at any format of samples - good quality colour photocopies, photographs, slides, and Polaroids, as well as digital submissions on CD-ROM. Submissions may be sent via email or fax. Please keep the file sizes small. Faxed submissions will not be returned. If you want submissions returned, send via snail mail with a SASE. You can send a selection of up to a dozen sample ideas to: Artist Submissions Comstock Cards, Inc. 600 South Rock Blvd. #15 Reno, NV 89502 Email Submissions: production@comstockcards.com Please send in a selection of approximately 10 to 12 samples. The size and shape of the artwork does not matter at this stage as we can scale and crop artwork (without damaging the work). All work that we receive is discussed in a product meeting and we will decide whether it is suitable for publication, or the artistsÕ style is suitable to be commissioned. Everything is returned by mail after consideration, so please include a stamped addressed envelope (SASE) with your work, and, if needed, a protective wallet for the safe return of your work. All work submitted without a SASE will be disgarded after 30 days. If you submit via email, and email will be sent back to you with a response. Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for response. |

do I submit gaglines/ideas? Greeting card copy/ideas are best submitted on a 3 x 5 index card. If you have a concept (idea for the image) for the copy, please include it. Copy that is accompanied by a concept image has the best chance of being accepted than one without. Ideas may also be submitted on any type of paper format or by email. Everything is returned by mail after consideration, so please include a stamped addressed envelope (SASE) with your work, and, if needed, a protective wallet for the safe return of your work. do you pay for gaglines/artwork? GAGLINES: Payment for gaglines is $50.00 per idea. Payment is made AFTER a signed AFFIDAVIT OF ORIGINALITY is signed and the card printed. Writers receive credit on the back of the card and samples of said card. ARTWORK: We negotiate the fee for each ARTIST separately. The fee will be to obtain the world-wide reproduction rights of the design. This lasts usually from the date of publication until the design is discontinued. All artists are required to sign a contract stating rate/fee and guidelines of terms, an AFFIDAVIT OF ORIGINALITY, receives credit on back of cards, and samples upon publication. |

NOTE: Do not waste your postage or time by sending us soft material, overly PORNOGRAPHIC material, landscapes, flowers, or anything foo-foo....it will be immediately returned or trashed. |

types of card are you looking for artwork for?
We are always looking for these types of cards year round. REMEMBER: Cards must not be sappy...middle-of-the-road humor to wildly risque'.

are the most common card sizes? We publish cards in a only one size - 5" x7". You may submit in any size, but keep in mind they will be printed in a 5" x 7" format. Horizontal cards are not recommended. |
